We arrived on a Saturday and left Monday morning. There are no washers and dryers in the rooms and if you wanted an iron & ironing board you had to call the front desk. See my pictures as I just think people should know the size of the was adequate. There were two vinyl chairs outside of the condo with a little table in between - this is where you viewed the pool (pool was nice) It was clean except for the bathroom shower head which had mold and I promptly cleaned before I showered. The kitchen, although newer, was just along one wall and the living area, dining area and kitchen were all one space - see pictures. The bathroom was updated but really small.the bedroom could only fit one nightstand next to a queen size bed. My issue was the room and the size of it ie 375 square feet.this is very small for a condo and its old.! My rule for vacation is you should stay at a place that is at least as nice as you live in or better and note that we are just regular middle class people. The people at the Surfrider are very very nice. The Surfrider Beach Club is a great place to stay on Sanibel Island but what really impresses is the people you'll meet there.…įirst let me say that Lynn at the front desk is a delightful human being and would do anything for anyone. When we were there, most restaurants were only a short 10 minute or so drive. There are plenty to be found during low tide or on the nearby sand bar. My wife especially likes hunting for shells.

Surfrider provides beach chairs, umbrellas, and kayaks free of charge. But the real star is the beach, just a short walk on a boardwalk through a dune. Off the living room is a sliding glass door that opens one panel over another onto a big screened porch. You enter through the bedroom which some find odd but it's nice and quiet havng it away from the pool side of the unit. The individual units are older but neat, clean, comfortable and well appointed. Most own multiple weeks and come every year, one reason why it's tough exchanging into here. In fact the whole place is like that, the guests included. Jackie, who runs the front office, and her staff are friendly and helpful they can't do enough for you. The grounds are nicely landscaped and everything is neat and clean. It is an older place, 31 units, 2-story "L" shaped building with a good sized pool, shuffleboard and tennis courts. My wife and I traded through RCI to go to the Surfrider Beach Club in Oct. It’s more like a two story motel than a resort. Idk, it’s just not up to Bluegreem s standards but it’s not Bluegreen’s properly and I got snapped at saying something about Bluegreem to Lynn on the phone as well. But, there about 10 feet of sand before you hit all the shells if you like walking at the waters edge, this isn’t the place to do it.

So, you have to carry or drag them out ( a good distance) everyday and bring them back when done. No tiki bar, no live music, no chairs on the beach or umbrellas. No little convenience store for aspirin or bandages. Here, Lynn who runs the office was snippy twice on the phone but nicer in person but we’ve not seen one employee since we’ve been here at all. Everyone at Bluegreem resorts are so curious and go the extra mile. I guess I’m spoiled being a Bluegreen owner. Ok the last think, it’s location on the island is good. You can also are able to rent a paddle board or kayak with a deposit and limited time slot. You are allowed to rent bikes as there are a lot of bikers on the island.

The rooms, while super small (500 sf) are very nice and clean and well equipped.
